The Entire Month of April:

Month long promotion featuring Hawaiian hotels, airlines,
attractions with displaying and sampling on the weekends.
Presented by All About Hawaii Travel and Kona Brewing.
Saturday, April 5th:
• Embellishing Fiber with Felting Needles – Arts Cabins
10:00am – 4:00pm
The workshop is an introduction to felting needles as an
embellishment and fiber-painting tool. You will learn how to
create artistic layers on a background of pre-felted fabric. The
process can be applied to felted, knitted or woven backgrounds
enabling you to transform any project into a unique piece of art.
You will receive step-by-step instruction, helpful hints and some
hard learned secrets about the use of felting needles. Needle
felting is an extremely forgiving process and the simplicity of
the tool is amazing.
Class fee is $55 per person. Includes all fiber materials, two felting
needles and instruction. Students should bring a large (minimum
4" X 6") sponge or small piece of foam for a work surface. Extra
needles are available from instructor. No experience necessary.
Class size limited to 12.
Saturday, April 5th & Sunday, April 6th:
• Vegetate 2008 – Mt. Hood Meadows
Freestyle skiing, snowboarding and music celebration to
commemorate the revegetation efforts for which Meadows has
received national recognition and awards. Presented by Salomon
and Full Sail Brewing.
• BoneZone Series II – Timberline
Now in its second year, this multi-day banked slalom event is held
in our legendary BoneZone terrain park - a natural gully filled with
berms, banks, and log-slides.
Sunday, April 6th:
• Needle Felting Sculpture Workshop – Arts Cabins
10:00am – 4:00pm An introduction to felting needles as a
three-dimensional sculpting tool. You will learn how to transform
carded batts of wool and various bits of color and curl into a
fanciful sculpture. You will receive step-by-step instruction.
At the end of the session you will have a unique, felt friend and
the skills to create many more. Needle felting is an extremely

– Middle Fork Irrigation Pond
8:00am - 1:00pm Mt. Hood National Forest, Hood River
Ranger District, in cooperation with the Oregon Department of
Fish and Wildlife and Middle Fork Irrigation, is hosting its
annual FREE Youth Fishing Clinic on Saturday, May 17th.
This clinic is for children 13 and under, all children must be
accompanied by an adult. This event takes place at the Middle
Fork Irrigation pond in Parkdale on Laurance Lake Road. Please
join us for a day of fishing, learning, and family fun. Also,
please bring fishing gear as we have a limited amount to loan
out. Don't forget, participants will enjoy locally donated prizes

Saturday, May 17th & Sunday, May 18th:
• 2008 Spey Clave – Oxbow Park
The 2008 clave will be the biggest ever spey rod party in the
western hemisphere! If you are interested in meeting other
steelhead Spey fishers and hope to learn a lot about Spey casting
and more about steelhead fishing, the Sandy River Spey Clave is
for you. The event will start at Oxbow Park on Saturday
morning the 17th of May and conclude on Sunday 18th.
This time of year there should be plenty of Summer Steelhead.
It is also the peak of the Spring Chinook run. The days are long
and the weather is warm. This event was first proposed by The
International Spey Page and Discussion Group. There is no
charge except for the Oxbow Park entrance and camping fees.
Oxbow Park Entrance Fee is $4.00 per vehicle. Overnight
camping is available at Oxbow on a first come, first served basis
for $15 (up to six people per site). No pets (dogs) are allowed in
Oxbow Park. For more information/directions visit
